How Zalopus Started?

Every startup has a beginning. The story of Zalopus didn't start in a corporate boardroom or with a formal business plan—it started with a simple idea to help a local neighborhood restaurant.

One of my long-time friends, whom I had known for many years through my brother from the newspaper industry, opened a small restaurant in our neighborhood. Wanting to support his new business, I came up with a simple idea. I printed a Xerox paper notice that read:

The Original Notice

"Home Delivery Available – ₹30 up to 3 km."

I personally pasted that notice at the entrance of his restaurant so customers walking by would know that home delivery was available.

"If a simple paper on the wall can help people discover home delivery, why can't technology help thousands of people discover local restaurants?"

That moment changed the way I thought.

I realized that many neighborhood restaurants served amazing food but had very little online visibility. They depended mainly on walk-in customers or phone calls, while many nearby residents didn't even know they offered home delivery. I wanted to change that.

That simple Xerox paper became the inspiration for Zalopus—a platform designed to give local restaurants modern technology, greater visibility, and the opportunity to reach more customers while making food ordering easy and transparent.

Today, Zalopus represents more than a food delivery platform. It represents a belief that local businesses deserve modern technology, greater visibility, and the opportunity to grow.
